Adventures in Music:
Grade School
A multicultural, community-oriented music education
program, AIM's elementary school program reaches every 3rd
- 6th grader in Inland Empire school districts (such as the
Riverside and Jurupa Unified School District, the Alvord Unified School
District and the Ontario-Montclair School District).
AIM strives to provide a comprehensive and participatory
music education experience to all of the youth of the Inland
Empire, and in many instances is the only music education
opportunity for these students.
Through AIM, each participating elementary school
receives grade-level specific curricula developed by the Philharmonic
Education Committee, a volunteer group of teachers, administrators,
school board members and parents.
The students experience in-school presentations
by musicians, preparing them for the culminating event of
the program, a field trip to the Philharmonic's concert hall
to hear the majesty of a full symphony orchestra concert.
The program for this concert is designed specifically for
the students.
